Description

The open upright assembly includes all the parts you need for one side of an 8000 series Open Shelving Unit. Use this item to easily convert an existing add-on unit into a starter or use several to start building your own section of shelving. Replace damaged boltless Shelving Components with ease. Lyon’s 8000 series is ideal for use as either warehouse or commercial open steel shelving. Provide the storage capacity you need anywhere with Lyon Industrial Metal Shelving. We offer these upright assemblies with a durable powder coat finish available in Dove Gray. The powder coat paint finish will also help protect your steel assemblies from everyday use.

Upright Assemblies

Each 8000 series open upright assembly includes the parts needed for one side of a shelving unit. An upright assembly consists of two T-Post Uprights as well as a Cross Side Brace. We make the t-post uprights out of durable hot-rolled 16-gauge steel. We punch the boltless shelving uprights with 1-1/16-inch long parallel slots. These slots fit our Shelf Clips so you can adjust our industrial open shelving on 1-1/2-inch centers. One of each pair of slots is a keyhole shape so you can bolt on cross braces and other accessories.

The side braces on the 8000 series open upright assembly are made of 12-gauge steel. Lyon also punches the cross braces at each end so they can bolt to the keyhole slots on the steel open shelving uprights. The side braces give your steel shelving unit the support and stability it needs. Each assembly includes the hardware needed to attach the cross brace to the upright t-posts.

Assembly and Installation

The 8000 series open upright assembly ships unassembled. Lyon strongly recommends that your steel shelving units be properly anchored. Make sure to install your uprights plumb and level before anchoring it to the floor and/or wall. Use the Upright-to-Floor Angle and a Concrete Wedge Anchor to anchor your uprights to the floor. Anchoring your shelving helps prevent tipping and allows you to take full advantage of the weight capacities. Be sure to add either a cross brace or a back panel to prevent lateral sway.
